WHERE CAN I ATTACH MY KUPPER MOUNT & HOW

The Kupper Mounts Bike Carrier Systems are designed to attach to a vehicle’s roof top or the back glass.

  • DO NOT mount bicycles with the handle bars facing the rear of the vehicle.

  • DO NOT mount bicycles sideways.

  • DO NOT mount bicycle on side of vehicle.

  • For roof mounting, position the rack near the front or back windshield corners where the roof has more internal support. The metal in the middle of some car roofs may not be sturdy enough to support the weight of your bicycle and rack.

  • For rear window mounting, make sure the bicycle's rear wheel does not hang lower than the bottom of the vehicle's bumper.

    HOW DO I REMOVE THE KUPPER MOUNT SYSTEM

    Removing the front and rear Kupper Mounts is easy. For the front cup simply press the valve release button and pull. For the rear cup pull on the tab and lip together to release the vacuum pressure.

     

    WILL THE KUPPER SYSTEM WORK WITH A THRU-AXLE?

    Of course, but like many other bike carriers, you will need to grab yourself an accessory.

    Obtain the appropriate thru-axle adapter that adapts from a 9mm to “xxxXxx” thru-axle. Many choices out there that will work, but we recommend Rocky Mounts.

    CAN I USE A BIKE WITH DISC BRAKES?

    CAN I USE THE KUPPER MOUNT SYSTEM ON A SUNROOF?

    We can not endorse the use of a Kupper Mount System mounted to a vehicles sunroof.

    If you so choose to mount there, please use caution and make sure you are comfortable with the vehicles sunroof strength.

    HOW DO I RELEASE THE VACUUM SEAL?

    To release the vacuum seal on the front cup, push the release trigger then pick up on the lip of the cup.

    To release the vacuum seal on the rear cup, pull the rubber tab on the cup and the lip congruently.

    HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CHECK THE VACUUM PRESSURE ON MY CUPS?

    We recommend first making sure that it is mounted at least 30 minutes before your journey to guarantee you indeed got a proper seal. After this check, you should give it a glance at every stop to make sure the red warning line is not visible, if it is, give it a few pumps until the red line is hidden.

    DOES THE MOUNTING SURFACE NEED TO BE CLEAN?

    You must ALWAYS CLEAN both the cups surface and the mounting surface to guarantee a proper seal and to prevent scratching of both items.

    SHOULD I STORE MY MOUNT WHEN NOT IN USE?

    The Kupper Mount System is designed for temporary mounting and to be removed when not in use and put into its storage case.

    MY BIKE IS VERY HEAVY, WILL KUPPER MOUNTS STILL WORK?

    The front Kupper Mount can hold forces of >400lbs, the main factor to consider is your vehicles strength at the mounting location. The Kupper Mount system is rated for bikes up to 45lbs., but at any weight >25lbs we urge you to find the strongest mountable areas of your vehicle. The rear glass is by far the strongest mounting location, followed by the corners of the roof and bumpers.
